Managed services

Managed open-source services, on your infrastructure or ours

Last reviewed by Tyler Eastridge

AceMQ runs your open-source data and messaging platforms for you: 24/7 on-call, monitoring, patching, upgrades and capacity, handled by senior engineers who specialise in each technology. We operate it in your cloud account or data centre, or host a dedicated deployment on AceMQ infrastructure.

The four tiers

Managed means Tier 3 and Tier 4

AceMQ's support ladder has four tiers. Each one moves one more responsibility from your team to ours. Tiers 1 and 2 are support: your team runs the platform and we back you up. Tiers 3 and 4 are managed services: AceMQ runs it and holds the pager.

Your team runs it · support

Tier 1

Reactive support

Senior engineers answer your tickets 24/7 under the contracted SLA, with root-cause write-ups after every Sev 1.

Pager: your team

Tier 2

Proactive monitoring

Tier 1, plus AceMQ watches your metrics and raises lag, replication and capacity problems before users notice.

Tier 3

Managed on your infrastructure

AceMQ operates the platform inside your cloud account, Kubernetes cluster or data centre, with the system access that takes. You keep the account, the data and the bill.

Pager: AceMQ

Tier 4

Managed on AceMQ infrastructure

AceMQ hosts and runs a dedicated deployment for you. You get endpoints, not servers, cloud accounts or an on-call rota.

Pager: AceMQ

Tier 3 and Tier 4 get the same operations, and both include system access for AceMQ engineers on every technology. What changes is where the platform runs and who owns the infrastructure under it. See Tiers 1 and 2 on the support page.

Compare

Managed vs. support vs. a cloud provider

Three ways to keep an open-source platform running. The difference is who holds the pager, where it runs and how much of the engine you can still choose. AceMQ's managed database services cover high availability, disaster recovery, patching and day-to-day database administration on the engine and version you already run, where a fully managed cloud database service limits you to the provider's versions and features.

Onboarding

How AceMQ takes over the pager

Nobody hands over a production platform on day one. We learn it, document it and run it alongside your team before the pager moves.

01

Scope call

We map what you run: versions, topology, environments, SLAs and where it should live.

Out: a quote and a tier recommendation

02

Assessment and access

A health check of every cluster, system access agreed with your security team, monitoring wired in.

Out: findings and a fix list

03

Runbooks and shadowing

We write the runbooks and run changes alongside your engineers until both sides are confident.

Out: runbooks you own

04

Pager handover

AceMQ goes on call. You get engineers who know your environment, agreed change windows and a regular operations report.

Out: 24/7 operations

Pricing

Managed services are quote-only

There is no list price for managed services, because the work depends on what we run and where. Tell us the estate and we send a quote, usually within the hour.

  • What we run

Technologies, clusters, nodes and environments, from one production cluster to a multi-region estate.

  • Where it runs

Tier 3 in your cloud or data centre, or Tier 4 on AceMQ infrastructure, where hosting is part of the price.

  • SLA and change windows

Response targets, maintenance windows and how often changes ship.

  • Compliance and access

Air-gapped sites, rules for how AceMQ engineers access your systems, and audit evidence.

For reference: support

$24,000–72,000

A year for AceMQ 24/7 support (Tiers 1 and 2), set by SLA, scope and deployment, with discounts when you cover several technologies. Managed services add the operations on top, so they are quoted separately.
